PTO BOX TOP CHALLENGE
Pickaway Elementary PTO is sponsoring a Box Tops collection contest. The class that collects the most box tops between Monday, September 18 and Tuesday, October 17 will win a special treat. Please use the form sent home to collect your box tops. Need additional forms? Click here Please be sure to include student name, grade and teacher on all submitted forms. Forms must be turned in by Tuesday, October 17 to count for the contest.
SOLAR ECLIPSE INFORMATION
On August 21, we are excited to start our 2017-18 school year off on the same day as the solar eclipse.
In preparation, we have ISO approved solar viewing glasses for all of our staff and students thanks to a generous donation made by the Eric and Diane Maxson family to the Logan Elm Education Foundation.The eclipse will begin around 1:00 pm and last
until approximately 4:00 pm, with the peak time being 2:15–2:45pm.
All students will be educated during the day about this natural phenomena, including the appropriate safety measures.

2017-2018 KINDERGARTEN STAGGERED START
For the 2017-18 school year, Logan Elm will use a "staggered start" process to begin school for our kindergarten students. The staggered start will allow us to help students transition smoothly to the kindergarten classroom. On your child's staggered start day, he/she will be with a small number of students so that the teacher can provide close attention to the beginning needs associated with starting school. The teacher will begin the required state assessments, will introduce daily routines and procedures to small groups, and will help your child become familiar with his/her new surroundings. School transportation will not be provided for kindergarten students on August 21, 22, and 23. A letter informing parents of their student's assigned staggered start day was mailed over the summer. If you did not receive a letter, please contact the school.
Staggered start hours for Kindergarten students on their assigned day will be 10AM - 2:30PM.
After these first 3 staggered start days, all kindergarten students will attend as a whole class on Thursday, August 24, and will be transported by the school bus.
